Top Indian restaurant, My Delhi Leeds to launch this summer

Exciting news for Yorkshire’s bustling foodie scene: My Delhi Leeds is launching very soon.
The brand, which has over 300,000 followers on social media, has secured a gorgeous site at Hepper House on East Parade, right in the city centre.
The stunning Grade II listed building, which was previously home to Spanish tapas restaurant Iberica, will be transformed into My Delhi Leeds, their largest and most considered restaurant to date.
My Delhi operates restaurants in Newcastle, Sunderland and Leicester and has built a strong presence through its take on food from the capital.

My Delhi Leeds will centre around a main dining hall, alongside a private dining room and a cocktail-led bar.
The refurbishment will include a bespoke fragrance experience within the washrooms and a collection of traditional fixtures sourced from India, bringing together elements of heritage and a more contemporary setting.
Director Elahi Shah says: “Leeds felt like the right next step for us. We’ve always focused on doing things properly, and this gives us the space to take that further.
The food remains the same at its core, but the overall experience has been taken up a level. It’s a more complete version of what we’ve been building.”
Food from the capital sits at the centre of the concept.

My Delhi Leeds : Breads baked fresh and kebabs cooked over charcoal
The menu reflects the breadth of Delhi’s food culture, from Indo-Chinese dishes such as cauliflower Manchurian to tandoor cooking rooted in Old Delhi.
Expect breads baked fresh and kebabs cooked over charcoal in the tandoor, with distinctive depth and smokiness.
Alongside this, the menu features slow-cooked dishes including Emperor’s Stew, a rich nihari-style curry, as well as the Butter Chicken 1950s and 1947 Black Dal.
Chef Gaurav Dayal says, “Our cooking has always come from Delhi. That hasn’t changed.
What Leeds allows us to do is present it in a more complete way, while keeping the character of the dishes intact.”
My Delhi Leeds opening is planned for June 2026, and we can’t wait to give it a try.
