The biggest new restaurant openings coming to Yorkshire

We loved and we’ve lost many beloved hot spots in the Yorkshire restaurant scene last year, but 2025 is looking to be the year of new restaurant openings. We’ve pulled together the best so far, including new awards, new chefs and new exciting concepts.
Six and a half, Sheffield
A modern fire-dining restaurant has opened in Sheffield, taking quality seasonal ingredients and utilising ancient cookery techniques. Chef Leslie Buddington jointly opened Brocco on the Park, and this new restaurant is his latest venture.
This spot is situated on the popular Sharrowvale Road, neighbouring some of our favourite coffee stops, bars and restaurants in the city.
With carefully crafted cocktails, sharing plates and a weekly special two or three-course menu, Six and a half could be a new foodie gem.
Fold Focacceria, the new in-house bakery by Cheesy Living Co, Leeds
Little has been said by the Cheesy Living Co team, but we know that we can expect that Fold Focacceria will bake all the bread, bagels, artisan pastries and treats Cheesy Living sells. They have big ambitions about opening it up to the public for on the go sarnies, hot drinks and other baked goodies.
It’s set to open this year.
Black Wheat Club, York
Nestled on the cobbled street of Fossgate, Black Wheat Club has only just opened its doors to welcome hungry brunch-goers.
Their menu includes a tempting salt beef poached eggs, or a hot bowl of porridge topped with torched brown butter & rum custard.
As well as fresh coffee and signature breakfast dishes to choose from, this spot also functions as a small-batch bakery – so you can take a loaf home with you.

Pranzo in Harrogate, soon to come to York
Opening in the Spring of 2025, Pranzo is a rare authentic gem that is loved by locals and foodie fanatics alike. Operating in Harrogate, Ilkley and Horsforth, chef and owner Marco Greco is adding York to his list of hot spots.
Inspired by his Calabrian heritage, Pranzo is well-known for its homemade dishes with deep flavour. You’ll find them on 15-17 Church Street, York.
