Popular gastropub The Fat Badger joins Yorkshire Coast landmark hotel

After the success of popular York and Harrogate sites, Fat Badger Whitby is soon to open on the Yorkshire Coast.

The Fat Badger Whitby is coming soon

The new spot is to join the Whitby Royal Hotel, just a 12-minute walk from the harbour, attracts visitors all year round.

The Harrogate-based HRH Group said the opening will be “one of its most exciting” developments since it began 15 years ago.

The Fat Badger in York has become a popular Inn for locals and tourists alike, sitting just a stone’s throw from York Minster.

It’s likely that this new coastal location for The Fat Badger will become a real gem in Whitby’s bustling foodie scene.

They currently offer a seasonal a-la-carte menu, real ales and Yorkshire gins which are enjoyed in their candlelit restaurant. The Fat Badger Whitby will offer the same quality food and sterling service.

Their beer garden has even been deemed one of the best in York for the sunnier months in the City Centre. Their new spot by the beach will be blessed with sea views and rays of sunshine in the summer.

The Whitby Royal Hotel is the biggest hotel that the HRH Group own, and further refurbishment is to take place over the next year.

Managing director Simon Cotton said: “A million pound project has already begun, which will include the complete refurbishment of the current 116 rooms.’’
