Pearly Cow in York is committed to respecting the herds, breeds, crops, and catches that characterise the native wildlife. Only using the best, most natural produce from the land and the sea.

Yorkshire is rightly proud of its produce. For thousands of years, farming has been its speciality. More than 90 miles of highly regarded rich fishing waters also line its magnificent coastline. York city centre restaurant Pearly Cow has an ethos to respect ingredients, prepare them well and present them beautifully. Expect raw, light, smokey, and deep dishes.

A celebration of the Yorkshire Dales and the nearby North Sea, the team has focused heavily on carefully identifying local suppliers. R&J Farmers and Hodgson’s Fish will help them source the best local ingredients whilst celebrating ingredients from across the British Isles too.

Breakfast is light, hearty, or kick-starting with oysters and spiced-as-you-like bloody marys. Lunch and dinner feature star ingredients in classic interpretations, sharing dishes, and divine desserts. And kids have their own Pearly Calves menu. Afternoon tea is afternoon sea – a very fresh take on this timeless treat paired with Quatre Vin wines. And on Sundays, traditional roasts bring a beautiful close to the week.

Such wealth is celebrated at Pearly Cow, located within No.1 GuestHouse York, a stunning Georgian boutique hotel with warm charm. Looking for traditional afternoon tea in York? Check out our No.1 GuestHouse Afternoon Tea offer.
