Finally, spring is here and in full bloom in Yorkshire! Sunnier afternoons, long walks, and plenty of Easter activities to occupy the school holidays.
Whether you’re on the hunt for some family friendly days out or a chocolate festival to pick up some last minute easter treats, there’s plenty going on this April.
We’ve put together our favourite easter events in Yorkshire, with something for everyone.
Easter Events in West Yorkshire

Harewood House, Golden Egg Heist Trail
Just a short drive from Leeds, escape to Harewood House and enjoy 140 acres of gorgeous Yorkshire countryside. With an adventure playground for the kids, a teahouse and courtyard cafe, there’s plenty to explore.
This Easter holiday, the South Garden has even become a family-friendly trail of mythical creatures, as children ages 7+ are challenged to crack the code and return the golden geese’s stolen egg!
The little ones can enjoy this egg-citing adventure from Saturday, 28th March until Sunday, 19th Apr 2026.

Blue Pavilion, Easter set menu
Dine in style this Easter at Blue Pavilion. Set in their glamorous city-centre restaurant, their Easter set menu is a feast for all the senses, offering a true taste of authentic Chinese cuisine.
Start with their deep-fried sharing platter, then their signature crispy aromatic duck, finishing with a main of your choice. Expect fresh oriental flavours to complement the spring season perfectly.

York Chocolate Festival
As a celebration of this city’s rich chocolate history, the York Chocolate Festival is back. From 1st to 5th of April 2026, expect a weekend filled with tastings, makings, workshops and artisan markets.
The centre of York has a lovely, busy atmosphere, especially during one of its foodie festivals. This one is over the spring bank holiday, perfect timing if you’re picking up some last-minute Easter treats.

Easter Afternoon Tea, Swinton Estate
Swinton Estate is a picturesque location to welcome in the spring season, with Deer Gardens and acres of grounds to explore.
A lovely way to celebrate easter with family and friends, enjoy a selection of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and crafted cakes.
You can unwind with breathtaking views of Swinton’s parkland – this is a real treat.

Made in Whitby Festival
Made in Whitby brings together creative, local producers under one roof to showcase some of the great businesses in the area. Whether it’s Whitby distillery or Bootham’s of Whitby, there are some fantastic independent suppliers to celebrate.
From 3rd to 6th April, Made in Whitby Easter Festival will be at Whitby Abbey, a stunning location to visit all year round.

Duck race, Hebden Bridge
This Monday, 6th April, you can join in the annual Hebden Bridge Duck Race, which raises money for The Rotary of Hebden Bridge Trust Fund.
Prizes for the speediest ducks past the finish line include a £500 travel voucher, cash prizes and a mystery prize for the duck in last place!

Sunday lunching and Easter afternoon tea at The Grand, York
The Grand has brought back its refined, classic Sunday roast for this Easter Sunday. Curated by Executive Chef Kevin Bonello, expect quality meats and nostalgic British desserts, served in the stunning backdrop of The Rise restaurant.
Their new Easter-inspired afternoon tea is also available, incorporating delicious flavours inspired by the spring season.
From an asparagus, Dale End cheddar & tarragon quiche to sweet treats like the Yorkshire tea mousse with chocolate sponge and medjool dates – The Grand serves up one of our favourite afternoon teas in York.

Woodland bunny trail, Bolton Abbey, Skipton
From Saturday 21t March to 19th April, Bolton Abbey is once again hosting their woodland bunny trail for all the family.
Wind your way through Strid Wood, looking out for the giant bunnies! Find all of them, and you’ll be able to complete your trail sheet. Better too, entry is covered by your car parking ticket.
If you’re looking for a bite to eat after your trial, we’d recommend visiting The Fell, a 2AA Rosette-awarded restaurant, or The Devonshire Arms. Both spots offer delicious seasonal dining and sweeping rural views.

Filey Food Festival | Evron Centre, Filey
Why not try a food festival for an Easter event this bank holiday? The free-to-attend Filey Food Festival is based within the Evron Centre Gardens and Crescent Gardens offering superb views of Filey Bay.
Expect over 65 stalls showcasing the very best of Yorkshire foods as well as fantastic produce from outside the region offering choice, quality, and great value. You can visit on Saturday 4th- Sunday 5th April.

Easter activities at The Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Doncaster
The Yorkshire Wildlife Park is putting a tropical twist on springtime play, with an array of activities during the Easter holidays to keep everyone entertained and active!
Their jungle theme features a pantomime and a jungle boogie live show, and there are even character meet-and-greets too.

Brodsworth Hall Easter quest
At the lovely Brodsworth Hall and Gardens, there’s a fun-filled Easter quest perfect for the little ones! Running from the 28th March until the 19th April, throughout the school Easter holidays, the kids can let of some steam and you can enjoy the lovely surroundings of Brodsworth Hall.
Follow the Easter trail, hunt for eggs and answer questions along the way to earn a delicious chocolate reward.

Easter at Burton Agnes Hall
From 23rd March to 12th April, children are invited to take part in exciting egg hunt around Burton Agnes Hall’s magnificent gardens.
There are 25 huge, hand carved and painted wooden eggs hidden in the woodland and the task is to find them all.
