As another half-term fast approaches, parents begin frantically assembling a packed schedule to ensure the kids remain entertained for the week. Fortunately, we’ve compiled a wide list of fantastic April half-term activities in Yorkshire your little ones will love.

Burton Agnes Hall - Easter Events East Yorkshire for April half-term

Easter Trail | Burton Agnes Hall, Driffield: 15th – 21st April

Children are invited to get involved in an easter event hunt around the grounds of Burton Agnes Hall. There are 25 huge, hand-carved and painted wooden eggs hidden in the woodland, all you need to do is find them all!

On your adventure, you’ll get to solve clues, learn about the history of Easter and explore the beautiful grounds. You’ll even get a little pouch of chocolate eggs to start you off setting your own egg hunt.

Save room for lunch as their wood-fired pizzas are to die for.

Peter Rabbit Easter Adventure Trail, Swinton Bivouac: 9th and 24th of April

Between the 9th and 24th of April, help Peter and Benjamin to save Easter by rescuing all of the Easter eggs!

This egg-citing trail will take you around the beautiful woodland of Swinton Estate, with some of the most stunning views in Yorkshire. Even better, profits will go to Friends of Grewelthorpe School Fundraising, so you’ll be giving back to the local community.

Whitby Abbey - Easter Events Yorkshire for April half-term activities

Easter Adventure Quest | Whitby Abbey & Scarborough Castle: 5th – 27th April

Explore the grounds of Whitby Abbey or Scarborough Castle at these fun Easter events. Hunt for clues and challenges and discover classic games like the egg and spoon race. Track down the Easter eggs and you’ll be rewarded with a delicious chocolate treat.

It’s the perfect way to get out and about in history this bank holiday, and an easy way to pick up a sweet treat. The Adventure Quest will take place between Saturday 5th April – Sunday the 27th April at both the Abbey and the Castle.

Temple Newsam Leeds Yorkshire April half-term activities in Yorkshire

Where’s Wolly? Learn about sheep and wool at Temple Newsam, Leeds | 5th – 21st April 2025

Filey Food Festival - street food and independent traders

Filey Food Festival | Evron Centre, Filey | 19th – 20th April

Why not try a food festival for an Easter event this bank holiday? The free-to-attend Filey Food Festival is based within the Evron Centre Gardens and Crescent Gardens offering superb views of Filey Bay.

Expect over 65 stalls showcasing the very best of Yorkshire foods as well as fantastic produce from outside the region offering choice, quality, and great value. You can visit  Saturday, April 19th – Sunday, April 20th.

Tulip Festival father Copleys April half-term activities

Tulip Festival, Farmer Copley’s | 12th – 27th April

The Copley family have been farming for over 140 years, selling award-winning farm produce straight from their farm. Honey, gelato, delis and craft beers to name a few – there’s variety, but quality is not something they mess with.

Coming up this April is their tulip festival, and the team have planted 517,000 individual bulbs consisting of 65 varieties. There will be two dedicated pick-your-own areas, so you can pick your tulips – keep them for yourself or gift them to a loved one!

This has to be one of our favourite half-term activities.

Lambing season for April half-term activities

Easter Lambing | Cannon Hall Farm, Barnsley | 29th March – 21st April

Scarborough Food Festival for April half-term activities

Scarborough Food and Drink Festival |12th – 13th April

Hosted in Scarborough’s stunning open-air theatre, this event is free to enter and perfect for all the family. Grab yourself some street food, try a new cuisine and make sure to take home some baked goods for later! Classic pies, brownies and artisan cheeses are calling our name.

There’s fairground rides for the little ones to burn off some steam and a tipi bar for adults to enjoy a drink or two.

Young Film Festival 2025, Leeds | April 5th – April 21st

Although we have our fingers crossed for sunnier days, April in Yorkshire inevitably brings some showers – and what better place to spend a drizzly day than cinema?

The Young Film Festival offers hands-on filmmaking workshops for the younger ones, as well as immersive VR experiences and screenings of family-friendly films throughout the week.
